A 12-year-old woman died after consuming a milkshake made in an unwashed blender at a restaurant in south-east London.
Mia St Hilaire had a tree nut allergy and had a extreme response after her order was believed to include traces of hazelnuts and almonds from a earlier milkshake made in the identical machine on the Pop Inn Cafe on Southwark Park Street.
She was taken to hospital the place she died in August 2023.
The cafe has been fined £18,000 and its proprietor given 100 hours of neighborhood service after admitting six felony fees associated to the Meals Security Act.
